Upon successful completion of the formal online assessment within your unit, you will be issued with a digital badge. The badge is a portable and verifiable record of your achievement as it contains metadata that describes your certification and the process required to earn it. Share your accomplishment easily on your website, email signature and LinkedIn profile.

We are creating units across three levels of learning that will offer increasingly deeper levels of knowledge and practice.
As we develop and release units over time, we are working towards offering pathways of units to enable you to build on previous units and master a specialisation in tax. A growing number of units at different levels will also provide you with the ability to create your own pathway to assist with meeting your specific career goals.
Introduction to the Australian tax system
Our first unit at a Foundation level, Introduction to the Australian tax system consists of a series of 9 videos. This unit explores the building blocks of the Australian tax system, frameworks and concepts that underpin our economy. The unit has been designed for anyone who wants to better understand our complex system and how it affects our everyday lives.

Delivering content in smaller units or bite-sized pieces optimises the way learners absorb, synthesise and gain technical knowledge and skills. Individual stand-alone units give you the ability to study what you want, where you want when it suits you. Over time, you'll have the ability to stack units to build a pathway to a specialisation or meet your individual career goals. Your professional certification or digital badge is available upon successful completion of the unit and is easily verified by others.
Successful completion of a unit gives you 2 CPD hours.
Badges do not expire, the metadata on your badge will state when it was issued.
There is no need to purchase any additional resources. Everything you'll require to complete a unit is included in, or linked from witihin the online learning environment.
You can take the assessment contained within your unit at any time, anywhere in the world. We recommend completing the online learning and knowledge checks as you go. The duration of the assessment will differ from unit to unit so please view the unit page for that information. After successfully completing the assessment, congratulations! You are certified, go on and claim that badge to prove it.
Assessments are in two parts, the first part must be successfully completed (passed) before you will be able to atttempt the second part. Each part must be completed within the relevant time limit. You can pause between the two parts. We recommend you make sure you have blocked some time free of distrations to undertake the assessment.
Yes, just like real life you're allowed to refer to your unit learning content, relevant external sources such as legislation and your notes. Assessments are timed so, in order to pass, you're not going to want to do very much flicking to other sources. Assessments are designed to check your understanding, your application of the knowledge so you're still going to need to know your stuff no matter how many books are in front of you!
Working your way through the unit on the learning platform, using the knowledge checks as you go and making sure you understand the concepts before proceeding is the best way to ensure you'll pass the assessment with flying colours.
You'll receive an email from Credly (the badge-issuer) notifying you of your new digital credential. If you already have an account on Credly's Acclaim Platform, sign in to your account to claim your credential. If this is your first digital credential through Credly's Acclaim Platform, you'll be guided through the necessary steps to create an account Once you've accepted your digital credential, you'll then need to claim it.
If you don't have time to claim it straight away, Credly will send you a few automated reminders via email, you won't miss out! There is no time limit to claim or accept your digital badge.

You maintain complete control of the information about yourself that is made public, you can configure your privacy settings in the badging platform Credly.
Your slick new certification will however look great on your LinkedIn profile! Why not celebrate that achievement? Of course, your particular circumstances may mean that you'd prefer not to, it's up to you and you can change your mind at any time.
While badges are digital image files, they are uniquely linked to data hosted on a platform called Credly. This link to verified data makes them more reliable and secure than a paper-based certificate. It also eliminates the possibility of anyone claiming your credential and your associated identity. When someone clicks on your badge, they will be able to view who the badge was awarded by and when, the unit it was awarded for and the learning outcomes of the unit.
A benefit of this new method of learning in tax is that you set the agenda. The only restriction is that you have one year from the date of purchase to complete the learning and claim your digital badge.
