The Taxation Institute of Australia appreciates the opportunity to comment on the Treasurer's review of the Duties Act 1997 (the 'Act'), necessitated by the operation of s 317 of the Act which requires the Minister to review the Act 'to determine whether the policy objectives of the Act remain valid and whether the terms of the Act remain appropriate for securing those objectives'.
