Submission in response to the Treasurer's invitation of 21 September 2005 to make submissions regarding priorities for the 2006-07 Budget. The Tax Institute believes that the 2006-07 Budget is an ideal opportunity for the Government to further simplify our tax laws, resulting in a much needed reduction in the costs and administrative burdens of complying with such laws and ensuring that equity is restored to our tax system.
