The Tax Institute welcomes and supports the announcement of the Inspector General of Taxation regarding a review into aspects of the ATO's active compliance activities directed at business. Given the current complexity of our regime and the well recognised difficulties that taxpayers are experiencing in complying with our tax laws, the Tax Institute believes that the ATO's compliance activities need to be monitored.
