An abundance of private equity dollars, a favourable financing market and strategic players wanting to expand geographic, demographic and product reach are all contributing to a steady pace of ongoing merger and acquisition activity. As part of this we have also seen household name companies partnering with private equity firms to strategically finance and grow their businesses, however many are unaware of the number of deals being done at the small to medium end of the market.

Private equity is a real option for SMEs, and the current market presents many opportunities for small businesses to capitalise on this to grow their business, unlock capital, or plan for succession.

This seminar focussed on the commercial and tax implications of private equity deals for SMEs.
