GST is just not a matter of set and forget. Nor is it just a matter of 10% in and out.

The ATO has recently declared that it will significantly ramp up its compliance activities in the GST space. Funnily enough, this happened to coincide with GST's 10th Birthday and the receipt of additional funding of $337.5 million to increase and improve GST compliance activities over the 2010/11 to 2013/14 income years.

The main area that the ATO will be targeting as part of this compliance program is the SME market.

This event included the following with case studies/examples:

  • GST audits and reviews
  • areas of concern for the ATO.

This event was also held in Parramatta on the 4th of November.
