Source: QLD

Published Date: 8 Jun 2011

Business succession arrangements are an often overlooked part of structuring - regardless of the structure. The process of entering into a partnership agreement, shareholders agreement or unitholders agreement can save considerable expense later if a dispute arises amongst the partners. Such agreements address a range of issues including exit arrangements; it is common for exit arrangements to be funded by life insurance through buy-sell arrangements.

This event covered the following:

  • the issues which need to be considered in entering into partnership agreements and buy sell agreements
  • some technical issues relevant to buy-sell agreements and their structuring
  • a series of case studies on what happens when a partnership agreement or buy-sell agreement is not entered into, or not reviewed on a regular basis.
