Recent Changes to Victoria's Tax Laws

The Victorian Government has made many changes to state revenue laws in recent times. This event covered the following:
  • abolition of duty for first home buyers
  • off the plan concession reduced
  • narrowing of the transfer between spouses concession
  • introduction of the vacant residential property tax
  • valuations to be undertaken annually for land tax purposes
  • changes to subsale provisions, which came into force on 1 July 2017.
